Naruto Chapter 563 - Reactions

I'm thinking about adding a re-read of Naruto to Second Time Around, maybe ten chapters at a time. I don't know.

Not much to react to or speculate on with this, just a lot of HOLY CRAP OONOKI and HOLY CRAP TSUNADE. It's pretty amazing to see Oonoki finally on board with world-wide peace between ninja villages, seeing as he's one of the ones to promote war half the time (and has hired out Akatsuki!). If he's convinced, the other Kages and lesser village leaders won't be far behind.

Also, A freakin' punched through Madara's Susano-o! Punched right the hell through it! Not only is it the Uchiha's Absolute Defense, but it's powered by a Rinnegan ("final" form of the Sharingan it looks like?), and reinforced by Madara's considerable will. Sure, Oonoki powered it up by speeding A's charge and upping the density of A's punch, still.

(Is anyone else tired of Susano-o yet? It was interesting when Itachi had one, but like the Sharingan, it's being passed around like a disease.)

They're calling the Madaras "Young Madara" and "Old Madara", though it's up in the air which is which. Edo Tensei Madara is visibly younger but he's also a corpse-dust golem, while Tobi has an older face but is immortal.

Showdown between Tobi and Kyuubi-cloak Naruto! Which Naruto starts with a headbutt. How'd he connect without Tobi phasing out? Is he just that fast?

Since Tobi is the grand mastermind of pretty much the entire series, and Naruto gets to finally fight him, then either he won't need to fight Sasuke afterwards, or Sasuke's the final hurdle for the series, since there's nothing left after that but for Naruto to be named the Rokudaime Hokage (or die). Either way, it looks like we're approaching a series finale within the next year or so.

...unless they pull out another Akatsuki. Seriously, I thought that Bleach was going to end when... uh, have you read Bleach? No spoilers. If you haven't or aren't planning to.

The Dust-enhanced Lightning Fist of Holy Crap was pretty awesome. Susano'o needed to be taken down a notch, like Gaara's sand defense.

We haven't seen Tobi use a Susano'o, have we?

Only Sharingan users who have unlocked both the Mangekyo and the Tsukiyomi can use Susano'o, so we have to ask: Is the combat so far an illusion thrown by Madara? Bump Tsukiyomi up a notch with the Rinnegan, and what do you get?

Aaaaand it's probably worth noting that Madara has all six of the Paths of Pain available to him. Dollar says Oonoki has a run-in with Human Path in two weeks.

Tobi, on the other hand, has the old Jinchuuriki. Loaded with both Sharingan and Rinnegan. Each probably channeling one of the Paths. Likely with as much bijuu-boosted chakra as they had in life. Yep. That's gonna be a fun battle. I'll watch it from waaaay over here, outside of Tailed Beast Bomb range. So, from low orbit.

We haven't seen Tobi do anything Sharingan-related, save the genjutsu-controlling of Kyuubi. And possibly the same dimensional-distortion thing that Kakashi can do.

Actually, there's a thought. The only Mangekyo power Kakashi can do is Kamui, and he's not Uchiha bloodline, nor is it likely he's Senju-related. Possible point for Tobi not even being Uchiha?

A debatable concept, though not very. Gaara doesn't have Shukaku anymore, but he's got massive chakra reserves - probably his body built it up in response to holding a demon. Also possibly why Naruto has such massive chakra reserves even without tapping into Kyuubi.

If that's so, then yes, while the former Jinchuuriki aren't anymore, they likely have a lot of power still.

Then again, the bijuu's power is linked to the number of tails. Kyuubi might be at half strength - or at least at "Yang" strength - but it is the greatest of the youkai still, and now that it's likely cooperating with Naruto...

To be fair, what is Black Zetsu doing right now?

Black Zetsu shows up in issue 559, page 12, facing off against a super-Naruto clone. They're still fighting in issue 562, page 10, and on page 11 Chojuro cuts him in half. That's not to say that he's dead, mind.

Possible point for Tobi not even being Uchiha?

I think I'll agree with that. The groundwork for a non-Uchiha using the Sharingan has been in there since the Bridge mission, and Danzo... yuck. Could explain why he's collecting eyes: To replace his in case it goes bad.

I think that's the official explanation. The seals on the Bijuu aren't perfect, and allow some of their chakra to leak out. The chakra of the host then grows as a sort of immune response. Naruto's seal in particular was designed that way.

Oooh. Chojuro's even got Black Zetsu pinned to the ground with his big honkin' sword in issue 562, page 13. He won't be going anywhere for a while.

Except we don't really know all of Black Zetsu's abilities, aside from the melt into the ground and go anywhere there is land ohcrap.

We know he's Akatsuki's camera man. We know he can spawn White Zetsus and use wood element techniques. We know he can mimic chakra of people he comes into physical contact with. We know he can distribute himself like a fungus and grow from spores while siphoning chakra.

Absolutely nothing. Maybe catastrophic damage from swording, but naaah.

Point I raised on Twitter this afternoon: How many battles has Zetsu (either form) recorded, how many of those has Tobi reviewed and analyzed all to hell, and can Tobi make shadow clones? Used properly, he could poke everyone right in their weak spots more or less simultaneously.

What other techniques are in the first couple chapters that could make a comeback?
