Mondays should be illegal.
Jul. 3rd, 2006 10:29 amDefinitely regretting coming into work today. The office - as Independence Day is tomorrow, not today - is open, which means I have to be here. My co-worker, however, is not. We're not sure if he forgot that we were working today or not, but I've suddenly got twice the workload. Plus it's the first Monday of the month, which means a metric fuckton of stuff came in for me to scan and sort. (EDIT: He's in New York for the holiday, hopefully to return Wednesday. He forgot that we had to work today, otherwise he would have scheduled it off in advance anyway.)
Plus, we're out of paper. Like, completely, aside from a few boxes of legal-sized that I have stashed away on the fifth floor storage. But we're out of regular paper, which is bad because the upper floors - especially 7-9 - go through it like water. Which is not good anyway, but we're out. I'm not sure what happened; Dave ordered two pallets of it (eighty boxes total, each box has ten reams, each ream has five hundred sheets. You do the math.) last Wednesday, and it usually comes next-day.
Obviously, it didn't come next-day.
Because we go through so much paper, I requested that the next time we order, we order the 100% recycled paper. Same brightness, same quality, and it's even the same price, but there's the bonus of not coming in the horrid red boxes, where the red ink rubs off on my shirt and on the wall we stack it against. I think I complained about the horrible red before; the exact words I like to use are, "It looks like we've been killing small animals".
Nadia says it's impressionistic. I think I should take a picture, upload it on deviantART, and title it "Ode to a Nest of Squirrels that we Flung at the Wall".
Hit 14 on Krajin yesterday. Shylah (my wolf), is starting to catch up again. I think I've figured out how that works, since it takes much much less experience for a pet to level up, but it will never level past you; the pet does not gain experience if it is the same level as you. For example, when Shylah hits 14, her experience bar will freeze until I hit 15.
It makes sense. I had assumed before that the pet will use your experience bar, but I like this method better; means that if I catch a second pet, and it's at a much lower level than me, it'll catch up like really really fast. (I think I caught Shylah at level 6, when I was level 11 or 12, and for the next two hours, it was "Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!" Rapidfire-like.)
I've moved Krajin out of Mulgore, too; I've been dividing my time between Ratchet and the Crossroads, and heading to Razor Hill and Orgrimmar every once in a while to drop off a quest or two. I just picked up a quest that looks really fun - or really tedious - where I have to kill 60 Quillboars. 60. That'll be fun, until I clear the entire area and have to wait for them to respawn.
I've noticed that if I work it right, Shylah and I can take on a hyena that's level 19-20, as long as we don't accidentally aggro a second one or a random Raptor that's walking around. I've been learning how to manage threat between the two of us; if I want the mob to attack Shylah, I have her use Growl. If Shylah gets below half her health, I hit it with a Wing Clip, or move back and use a Distracting Shot. If she's dealing a fair amount of damage, I have the mob focus on her while I heal her. Even with a hyena at level 19, it's dealing just as much damage as I'm healing, and I've got enough mana to cover it until it's down.
Getting over two hundred experience per hyena is pretty nice for right now.
EDIT 2: It just occurred to me that I should use this icon instead of my Han one.
