It's been a while since I've done one of these. Taken from Linn.
Name: Kevin
Single or Taken: Taken.
Happy about that: Fairly.
Sex: Male
Siblings: Bloodwise, three. An older sister, a younger brother, and a younger sister. Although I have big-brotherly tendencies to a bunch of Modistas, and I have a Linn who I swear is my long-lost big sister. If I, for some unknown reason, go to heaven, I'm going to ask God what that's all about.
Eye color: Very dark brown. Jillian says they're piercing.
Shoe size: Depending on the shoe, it runs from 9.5 to 10.5
Height: Just over 5'9"
Innie or Outie: Innie. Am assuming this refers to a belly-button. Don't want to think of possible alternatives.
What are you wearing right now? White collared button-down shirt, dark brown pants. Black socks, both of which turn out to have holes in them. Will be getting rid of those tonight.
Where do you live: Northern Illinois. Chicago-suburbs, to be specific.
Righty or lefty: Righty. My brother is the only one in my family that is left-handed.
Can you make a dollar in change right now: I can make several if you want to wait for me to get to my car.
Best place to go for a date: Really depends on the mood at the time. Romantically, I'd prefer a dinner at a nice restaurant. Casually, it can range from a movie, to a meal, to walking around the park with a nice cold smoothie in my hand. And staying in with video games or movies is always a good option, provided there will be snuggle-opportunities on a couch or large chair.
FAVORITES
Kind of pants: Loose-fitting jeans.
Number: I've always liked 7 and 12.
Animal: Various mammals, those of the felis or canidae families in particular.
Drink: Fly by night with Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew for you-u.
Sport: Baseball. Mainly because of my mother.
Month: I like 'em all, really.
Juice: Raspberry.
Favorite cartoon character: Inspector Gadget.
HAVE YOU EVER....
Given anyone a bath: Yes. Family counts, right?
Bungee jumped? No,and I don't plan on it any time soon.
Gone skinny dipping? No.
Eaten a hot dog? Yes. Like them much more than hamburgers.
Loved someone so much it made you cry? Yes. And for varying reasons.
Broken a bone: Honestly, no, but my foot should have been broken when I was in seventh grade. The fact that it wasn't at all is something that I still don't understand. Though I'm not complaining.
Played truth or dare: A few times when I was younger.
Been in a physical fight: Depends. Does sparring in martial arts classes count?
Been in a police car: Uh huh. Back seat, even. Though that's because Barbie was in the front seat and he was giving us a ride to the bus stop. There's a story there that I won't go into unless asked.
Been on a plane: Plenty. Love it.
Came close to dying: A few times. The first time I can remember, I walked into a swimming pool when I was probably one-ish. My dad jumped in after me.
Been in a sauna: No.
Been in a hot tub: Couple times. Fun.
Swam in the ocean: Both Atlantic and Pacific.
Fallen asleep in school: No, but I've fallen asleep at work a few times when I was homeless.
Ran away: Once, and I got maybe five blocks before I turned around and came back to pretend that I had just gone for a walk.
Broken someone's heart? Yes.
Cried when someone died: It will be...four years, I think, since my grandmother died in two days.
Cried in school?: Elementary school and a few times in middle school. Got teased a lot for it.
Fell off your chair: Couple times.
Sat by the phone all night waiting for someone to call? More than I would care to admit. A few nights, more than a few days, and it is something that I will never do again. And before you ask, yes, it was all the same person, every time.
Saved AIM conversations: I recently cleared out a folder that held three years-worth of conversations that were important in some way or another.
Saved e-mails: Only recently got rid of the Barbie folder in Hotmail. You tell me.
Made out with JUST a friend? Yes, but we very quickly got together after that. Hi, Melissa!
Used someone: ...in what context? No, seriously, I'm going to need a bit more clarification before I answer this.
WHAT IS.....
Your good luck charm? Myself.
New fav. Song? Stevie Wonder - "Superstition".
What is beside you?: Huge pile of paperwork that I need to get through today. Which is why I'm hanging out on LiveJournal and pretending that it doesn't exist.
Last thing you ate?: Sausage, egg, bacon, and cheese, on a bagel, from my office's cafeteria. It was really good.
what kind of shampoo do you use? Whatever fruit-scented one that my dad buys. Recently it's strawberry.
EVER HAD......
Chicken pox: When I was...six or seven, I think. And then I was allergic to the medicine that Dr. Lee gave me, so I had to take a second medicine to get rid of those splotches. The first one that I was allergic to was a pink cream thing, and then the second one that I had to take to get rid of my allergy was an orange powder that I had to mix with water and drink. It tasted nothing like oranges.
Sore Throat: Ugh. Yes.
Stitches: Not once.
Broken nose: No, but again, I should have had at least one.
DO YOU....
Believe in love at first sight: No. It's lust at first sight, and love at the second.
Believe in long distant relationships: Yes, though I prefer much shorter distances, or at least a few visitations. D:
Like school: Yes. Schoolwork, however, is something that I don't miss one bit.
QUESTIONS:
Who was the last person that called you: Jillian.
Who was the last person you slow danced with: Oh, God. I can't remember. I think it was Barbie, at Pat and Mary's wedding, which is an indication of how long it's been since I've slow danced with someone.
Do you like filling these out: When I feel like it, yes.
Do you wear contact lenses or glasses? Neither, though if I'm going to take after my father, I'll need glasses when I hit 40.
Do you like yourself: Quite a bit.
Do you get along with your family: Aside from Kelly, yes.
ARE YOU....
Obsessive Compulsive? About a couple things. I'll let you speculate as to which.
Suicidal? I've thought about it about seven years ago, for all of three seconds. Then I remembered how much I hate pain, and that dying hurts. Plus, there was a whole bunch of books that I hadn't read yet, which is when I made my decision to read as many books as I could before dying. Then I got some friends, and never thought about it again.
Well, sure, I've thought about how much dying would suck, and what might happen afterwards, but that's normal.
FINAL QUESTIONS......
What are you listening to right now?: The Spin Doctors - "Two Princes"
What did you do yesterday?: Hit 14 on World of Warcraft, and then helped set up for a bunch of aunts and uncles and cousins and my grandfather to have dinner at our house in our new livingroom/kitchen, which I will have pictures of later.
Hated someone in your family: No.
Gotten any awards?: I used to win a bunch of spelling bees when I was really little.
What car/truck do you wish you had: The one I already have is perfect. She's efficient, she's powerful, she's safe, she drives like a dream, and she requires very little maintainance. Linn, you need to get a car like Gwen. You remember how nice she runs.
Where do you want to get married? If not in a church of my wife's choosing, then probably either mine or my grandfather's backyard. I've always thought outdoor backyard weddings were marvelous, and there wouldn't be far to go for the reception.
Good driver? I've had one accident about four years ago, when I first got my license. And then I would find myself speeding and swerving a bit in the rental car in Florida, but that's mainly because I kept expecting it to handle like my Gwen. I don't think Rene noticed, and if she did, she never said anything to me.
Good Singer: It comes and goes. I've been really off-key lately.
Have a lava lamp: Not one of my own, but there used to be a red one in the old living room that we got rid of, and my dad has a tiny USB-powered one that's on top of his computer.
How many remote controls are in your house? A better question would be "How many working remote controls are in your house that are used on a regular basis?", and the answer would be about seven. No, eight. But we have a whole stack of old ones that either don't work or are attuned to VCRs that we don't use anymore.
Are you double jointed? Slightly. I can do the trick with my fingers.
What do you dream about? Um. Anything and everything. The boring stuff and the exciting stuff and they all intermingle. Many of them are related to things I've read or seen or heard, while some of them are premonitions - and yes, they actually are, and they come true later. Unfortunately, whenever I have a dream that comes true later (word-for-word, action-for-action, everything), it's never something I can actually use. It's always telling me (for example) that sometime in the future, I will be out at a restaurant with my mother and aunt Anne, and my mother will be wearing grey, and my aunt will be wearing green, and I will order fish, and we will talk about, like, how my sister is doing at school. Then, anywhere from a week to a year later, I will be out at a restaurant with my mother and aunt Anne, and my mother will be wearing grey, and my aunt will be wearing green, and I will order fish, and we will talk about how my sister is doing at school.
Then, of course, there are the weird dreams like being a Power Ranger, and sending a fax to Zordon from the Megazord. Or about being a ninja (Naruto-style), and putting together a computer inside an old NES, so that I can play World of Warcraft on the TV. Which is what I dreamed last night, and when I woke up, I remembered that I had gotten that idea from a Real Life strip I had read many many months ago. Sans the ninja.
When you last showered: This morning. I shower daily if I can, usually in the mornings. I hope I didn't wake up Rene any of the days I was visiting them in Florida.
Scary or Funny Movies: Both. At the same time, if it is done correctly. For example, I'm really looking forward to Joss Whedon's Goners, which is supposed to be a horror movie that he's making that nobody knows anything about yet. But it's Joss Whedon, the master of dialogue. There will be Joss-humor in there, and it will be glorious.
Chocolate or Vanilla: I like them both, but chocolate in moderation. Give me as much vanilla as you want, though.
Rootbeer or Dr Pepper: Dr Pepper.
Skiing or Boarding: Neither. I'll be in the lodge hanging out with Linn.
Summer or winter: I like it all.
Silver or gold: Don't care.
Diamond or pearl: Don't care.
Sprite or 7up: Mountain Dew.
Coffee or tea: Tea.
Phone or in person: In person, definitely.
Are you oldest, middle, youngest: Older-middle. I'm 2 of 4, adjunct tertiary beta. Resistance is futile.
Indoor or outdoors: Depends on what it's about.
TODAY DID YOU ......
1. Talk to someone you liked: Yes.
2. Bought something: Breakfast.
3. Get sick? My stomach's acting up.
8. Talked to an ex: No. Hey, what happened to questions 4-7?
9. Miss someone: I will until I see her next year.
LAST PERSON WHO.....
10. Slept in your bed: Myself.
11. Saw/heard you cry: Jillian. Very long time ago.
12. Made you cry: ...Barbie. I'm not ashamed to admit it, I am simply ashamed to have let it get to that point.
13. Went to the movies with: Nadia, to see Superman Returns. It was fucking great.
14. You went to the mall with: Oh, god. Um, aside from myself, the last time I was at the mall with someone was...mmmm I think my family. Depends on if The Glen counts as a mall or a shopping district.
15. Said "I Love You" and meant it?: Last night, on the phone, as I was falling asleep.
16. Ever been in a fight with your pet? I once pulled Lindy's tail when I was three. She quickly forgave me, though.
17. Been to Vegas? No, but my parents have. So has Kelly.
18. Been to Mexico: Summer of 2000. Club Med in Ixtapa, and we had a short layover in Houston both ways.
19. Been to Canada: No.
20. Been to Europe: No. I'd love to go visit London sometime, though.
RANDOM.......
22. What book are you reading now: I just finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and I'm looking for something new now.
23. Best feeling in the world? The first time I beat Ocarina of Time without a strategy guide. So, the second time I beat Ocarina of Time. That damned Forest Temple...
24. Future KIDS names: I will submit to Star Wars fanboyism and say that I'd like to name a future daughter Jaina.
25. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal: Not since I gave Corderoy to Melissa in high school. Speaking of which, do you still have him? I'm just curious, because he's very old by now.
26. What's under your bed: Evidence that I need to vaccuum sometime soon.
27. Favorite sport to watch? Baseball.
28. Favorite Locations: There's this manmade lake in Glenview that's kind of a really really large pond, with a nice quiet walking/biking path that goes around it.
29. Piercing/Tattoos: None, and it'll stay like that.
30. What are you most scared of right now: Same as Linn's. Plus clowns, which can be traced back to the time that Kelly and I once snuck downstairs one night and watched both IT and Killer Klowns from Outer Space when we were really really young. I first read IT in high school, and it really put it into perspective, but I still get a quick stab of panic when I first see a clown without warning.
Parades and circuses are fine, since I'm expecting them.
31. Who do you really hate? Nobody I will name here.
32. Do you have a job: Yes.
33.Have you ever liked someone you didn't have a chance with: Oh, all throughout junior high and high school. Various girls that were way out of my league. They were all the down-to-earth, intelligent and athletic girls that I probably got my preference for from being around my mother for as long as I have. Spout Freud all you want, I don't care.
34. Are you lonely right now? Yes, though I won't go all emo about it just yet.
35. Song that's stuck in your head right now? Ugh. Hansen - "MMMbop", which is probably revenge for putting that song on one of the CDs I sent Jillian recently to be a dick.
36. Have you ever played strip poker: Sadly, no.
37. Have you ever gotten beat up?: As far as someone attacking and hitting me? Yes. As far as actually getting injured from it to the point that I had bruises or anything? No.
38. Have you ever been on radio/TV: No, but my father's in a quick clip they use randomly on the news when talking about Evanston high school, and my mother has been in a few of her commercials that she's got circulating on cable. A really young Jenny is in one of them, too. And the light-up dance floor that my sister's group made at college has been on CNN a few times.
39. Have you ever been in a mosh-pit: No.
40. Ever liked someone but thought they never noticed you?: Plenty.
RANDOM
What's the first things you notice about the opposite sex (visual)? Usually, the eyes. Then my genetics kick in and my gaze lowers for a moment.
Your Favorite Food? Oh, there's too much for me to narrow down.
Ever get so drunk you don't remember? I've been 21 for a month and a half now, and I've yet to have any sort of drink whatsoever. I'm pretty proud of that, actually, much to my aunts' and uncles' dismay.
Hair color? Very dark brown.
Would you ask someone out? Yes, but every time, I've been shot down. The three relationships I've had so far, I've been the one asked.
Hugs or Kisses?: Depends on my familiarity with the person. I love hugs, though.
Butter, Plain or Salted popcorn? Butter.
Dogs or cats? I'd like one of each.
Favorite Flower? Just a field of wildflowers. Plenty of color there.
Have you ever fired a gun? Not a real one. I'd like to try going to a firing range sometime, though, just to try it out in controlled conditions.
Do you like to travel by plane as opposed to car? I love driving, but if it's going to be more than eight hours, I'd prefer to fly. Unless I can swap with someone every few hours.
How many pillows do you sleep with? One.
Who are you missing right now? Aside from Jillian, pretty much anyone I haven't seen in a while. Too many to name.
Do (any of) your ex(s) or old best friends miss you? I certainly hope so. Nobody likes being forgotten.
