Burning ring of fire.

I was listening to the radio this morning on the way to work.
This may not seem like a surprise, but there's never been anything good on the radio in the early morning. My favorite stations all have talkshow things on at that time; especially Q101, which is the home of Mancow. I used to like listening to Mancow, but it just seems so...I don't know. Forced.
Lately, though, I've noticed something. Q101 is actually playing music in the morning. I don't know why; maybe Mancow got cancelled, or maybe he went to satellite radio like Howard Stern. I don't know, maybe he'll be back in the fall. But for now, it's playing music in the mornings again. And what I like about Q101 is that in the past year or so, it's stopped the whole sponsored playlist thing that it had been doing, and opened up its entire stock of music. You can hear songs that it played back in '93 right next to songs from today. Depeche Mode and Nirvana right next to Nickelback. Classic Disturbed. You know, all the good stuff.
This morning, I heard Johnny Cash on Q101. He was covering a Nine Inch Nails song.
It was the greatest thing I have ever heard. Ever.

Sad.
I miss Q101. Every time I go home, I'm delighted to hear their shuffled playlist. If only I could catch them playing "Doll Parts" or something by the Smoking Popes, I'd be in heaven.
