Character piece - Bonding (or the Lack Thereof)
All right, this is the one made for Robin. Based on the theme of "Science", provided by bluewolfcub.
I tried a different trick with this one. Do you think it worked well?

Bonding (or the Lack Thereof)
------------------------------------------------
Very few people understood her passion. Sure, her mother might, and Kevin pretends to, but that’s pretty much it.
“Robin,” they’ll say, “you’ve got chemicals on the brain.”
‘Chemicals on the brain’ indeed. Hmph. They didn’t quite grasp the beauty of crystallization, or the deep satisfaction that one receives when a perfectly balanced equation will translate into perfect results in her hands.
Chemistry was just fine for her.
Other Aberrants may boast about having elemental control, but time and time again she will roll her eyes and proclaim that they wouldn’t know a true element if one formed a covalent bond to their asses.
Only her mother laughed at that one, sadly. Not even Kevin did, with his seemingly-endless inventory of stupid jokes. A shame, really, because Robin knew he understood it.
Other Aberrants may speak of dangerous missions, of killing enemy agents. She knew that if she had the patience and energy, she could disassemble a man into his base components in under ten seconds. Sure, she had never actually done it, but she tried it on a dead squirrel once and it worked – even though she had the largest headache for three days afterwards.
No, she thought. Very few people understood her. But she understood herself, and isn’t that really what mattered most?
