Alright, now that's taken care of, I can get caught up for today.

Your favorite memory, in great detail

Ahh, this one's a good one. The only thing I don't remember about this is the year; I think I was either 7 or 8 when this happened, but it stuck in my memory.

(ohgod this happened at least eighteen years ago why am I so old)

My family used to go to Wisconsin Dells every few years or so as the year's vacation; it was relatively close and not nearly as expensive as Disney World, which Kelly and I always clamored for, but far enough away that we could spend an entire extended weekend away. I very distinctly remember this year we were at a pink hotel with a toucan mascot. I thought it was the funniest thing ever.

One of the days we went on the Ducks. The Dell Ducks, for those unaware, are repurposed military DUKWs, amphibious trucks. The Dells use them for tours of the canyons, rivers, and the nearby lake.

Kelly and I had been fighting; I don't remember what about, but it might have been about who had to sit on their own. We were a family of five at the time - Jenny hadn't been born yet, and Jamie was only two or three years old - and the seats on the Ducks only fit two. I lost, and was sulking off by myself when the driver came on board, saw me sulking, and invited me to sit up front with him. Kelly was instantly jealous; I got to be right next to the driver. I even got to operate the PA system a couple times, and when we were in the lake he even let me take the wheel for a bit.

Needless to say, I've remembered that forever.

But that's not all! Also near our hotel was a circus museum. What I mean by that is that it was a museum showcasing the history of circus, and we got to tour backstage while a clown gave us a history lesson on the history and culture of clowning. He did this while putting on his clown suit and makeup, and he was clowning around while doing that, as well; he would, for example, put one foot up on a chair, as if he was going to tie the shoe, and then bent all the way down to instead tie the shoe that was still on the floor. It was very entertaining.

After the tour, they had the actual circus in the big top. When the clowns came out and were doing their thing, the same one from the tour came over to me and pulled me out of the crowd for a demonstration. He was making a balloon animal, and it got stuck on his finger, so he asked me to kick him in the butt to help him out.

Yes, that's right. Somewhere, my parents have a video of me kicking a clown in the butt.

That was seriously the best vacation ever.
