Other composers that are awesome
I've mentioned Alan Menken before, but I should talk about Christophe Beck, the composer of a lot of the original score of Buffy.
His work is really amazing, but only a few pieces have been available commercially (or at least easily available), on select Buffy albums - for example, Buffy/Angel romance theme is the last track on the first Buffy album, and Restless from Hush is on the Once More With Feeling album.
I don't know why I didn't see this until now, but at the beginning of this month they released Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Score, which is an entire collection of Christophe Beck's best works. Give it a listen; it's available not only from Amazon but also on iTunes.
