Also, I'm obviously looking in the wrong places, because I'm having trouble finding simple backgrounds for a 1440x900 widescreen resolution desktop. So yes, I'm still using the Vista Default.
Seconded! I see people's screencaps of their no-shortcut desktops and it just looks...wrong, to me. A well-organized set of shortcuts makes a desktop useful, and it works as a frame for bitchin' wallpaper. Of course, I'm at 1280x800, which is a smidge smaller and less widescreen. Your freak resolution HAS no wallpaper. XD

Seriously, delete some shortcuts! Baby Jesus is looking at your desktop and a tiny tear is rolling down his cheek. Anything you don't use on a daily basis should be stored elsewhere. I mean, who needs a shortcut for Irfanview? Or Winzip? Or Acrobat Reader? Those open when you click on the requisite files.
Also, -4 degrees is freaking cold. It's 51 degrees here at 4am.
I don't have Irfanview set as my default image viewer, so I do click on that. Other things I never bother to get rid of after installation.
WinZip is the setup file, since I uninstall it whenever it expires since I only use it every once in while when I download nonstandard compressed files, like .gz
See, I already know there's something wrong with you, since A.) you don't have Irfanview set as your default image viewer and B.) you're using Winzip instead of 7zip.

IAWTC so very very much. I mean, who needs three different WoW shortcuts? And Quicktime? Honestly now. All you're doing is slowing your boot time and giving your poor computer a lag.
I have a lot of shortcuts, but I use folders specifically made for the purpose. My desktop has only three things on it. I guess that's just a different sort of strange.
Note the two folders on the taskbar down on the bottom? Maybe I'll screenie those. But those are really the only programs I use. Loyalty is games, Hope is auxiliary programs (such as Daemon Tools and Steam and other such annoying contraptions that are only there to allow me to play my games. Oh, and notepad and Calculator. Nobody can live without them.)
