This weekend was a blast. Saturday, I went up with my father to see my grandfather, and it turned out that my aunt Mary was in town. I hadn't seen her since...May1, probably. We all talked and had fun and it was awesome.

On a related note2, Saturday night my mother says that she had gotten a call from my uncle John. John, as you may or may not know, is her younger brother, and the only one of her brothers that we know. Her older brother, Michael, lives in Las Vegas or thereabouts and the last time my mother saw him was before she and my father got married. It's something about him being insecure about being gay, and then never wanting to see his family ever again. It might have also been a reaction to the death of my grandparents not too long before, but that's pure speculation on my part due to the timing of it all. I really don't know much about it, since my mother doesn't talk about him very often. I do know that she really doesn't care if he's gay, and that she actually called him when she was in Las Vegas about six years ago. He spoke to her, and had an actual conversation with her, but refused to meet my parents in person. She's given up.

Anyway, John says that he's going to try to get Michael up here for a weekend or something. It would be the three of them meeting up for dinner. A family reunited. Mom says that she's not holding her breath, but I can tell that she really wants this to happen. If things go well, the rest of us might get to meet him. I really don't know how I feel about that, but if it ever does happen, I'll give the guy a chance. Maybe down the line we'll also get to meet his "life-partner" that he built a house with in Nevada.

Sunday took me down to Naperville, where Dayna showed me her new Rinoa-hair (which totally fits the shape of her face), the first fifteen-twenty minutes of Nightmare on Elm Street that I missed in the theater because we were late3, and sequels 2-4.

First reactions on Freddy's Revenge? That movie was so gay. That said, the girl who played Lisa was cute, and she got to kiss Freddy! It was awesome.

I really liked Dream Warriors, and the recovering druggie chick (I think her name was Teyla?) looked really familiar. I don't know what else she's been in, though.

Dream Master was more hilarious than scary, and Alice was cute in the beginning but she was totally badass at the end. I was theorizing and pontificating and Dayna was laughing at me.

When I got home and had dinner, I went on WoW and went through Uldaman with Quad's Druid, Kangral's Shaman, Gypzypunk's Rogue, and (I think) Xoji's Priest. Rene was going to come but she had to go, so I was sad. But I got a kickass polearm and was happy! Then I realized later that there was a reason I hadn't equipped any polearms before. Aggro broke, Feign Death was on cooldown, and I was swinging away...

Jillian called me again early this morning, and I didn't realize it. But apparently I answered the phone and spoke to her for two minutes and forty-eight seconds, and then put my phone back where it was. All in my sleep. She's rubbing off on me, I swear.

  1. May 19th-21st, the weekend of my sister's graduation from college and my 21st birthday.

  2. Note about relations! Haha! Oh, I crack myself up.

  3. Don't you start, Dayna. I was lucky I even saw a street called 7th. They hadn't turned the streetlights on yet.

Pfft.

Freddy is a tool, man. If you are gonna have a monster invade your dreams, make it a monster with some panache. Cthulhu has EONS of experience killing meat-brains in thier sleep, and he hasn't been defeated by a teenager.

This message approved by the Committe for more Cthulhu-related dream-killings.

Are you kidding? Freddy has style and class. And a sexy hat! Too bad the rest of him is so grotesque, though as with other ugly villains, the fangirls see him as pretty and flawed.

I'll dream you into a beautiful dream...

For not only being man enough to sit through Freddy's Revenge, but mostly for just defending the hell out of my favoritest-ever horror villain, you get icons.
