It's time to conquer the nearest planet!

Went on the Wailing Caverns run Saturday night. When everyone got on, we got about a tenth of the way through the instance when Rene had to go, Rowan started falling asleep, and Robin died.
They kept apologizing. I think they thought I would be upset. Honestly, the reason I was so quiet was because I was laughing so hard.
No, really.
It was fun, though. We still got some phat lootz, my share of which I decided to send to my mage to disenchant.
But the weekend was not lost as far as dungeon crawling went; Rene came back online with Gen, and was going to go make the run again. She invited me along, and we were able to clear all but one quest, and got even more awesome stuff. Now THAT was fun. Gen and I were making NJO references (I forgot which Yuuzhan Vong god was which; I am ashamed) and he confused Rene with an Animorphs reference.
Plus he was wearing his Pimp Hat of Sexual Healing (+5 to choking a bitch) the entire time. That thing is seriously awesome. I should have screencapped it.
Serpentis didn't drop the blue bow I was hoping for, but I finished out the quest and got my blue sword! It's damned awesome, and I'll take a screencap probably tonight for you all.
Sunday I went bowling with Jim. First time I've been bowling in about a yearish; last time was with Barbie. For some unknown reason, I beat him all three games - the first two it was really close, like within five points, but I got like six strikes in the third game and ended up with 168. All-time high for me, actually. Let's see if I can ever break 200 sometime.
After that, we went back to his place and he entertained me by playing Silent Hill for a couple hours. I can definitely see why Kitten loves it so much.
Earlier, I had also been feeling nostalgic because I checked out Mighty Moshin' Emo Rangers. I had seen it before on YouTube, but trust me, the clean version on their own site makes it much much better.
They're almost done with the second episode. I can't wait.
But that had made me nostalgic, so I went searching on YouTube for the first season of the original Power Rangers. And it made me happy. So very happy. Seriously, childhood memories rose up and attacked me all at once to see the Putty Patrol and Trini (TRINI! ;.;) and Alpha's original voice, and GOLDAR. Say what you want about Power Rangers, but Goldar was THE MAN, yo. There wasn't a single fight against the Rangers that he didn't control until Rita started meddling with her "I EMBIGGEN YOU NOW OKAY".
Seriously, Rita. Size isn't always everything. On foot, Goldar ALWAYS had the advantage.
I can't wait until I get to the five-part Green Ranger intro-arc, because I remember how incredibly amazing that was when I first saw it in '93. (God, has it really been thirteen years? Man, I feel old.) And to this day, I still haven't seen the Wednesday episode of that arc. Every time that saga was on, Kelly and I would always miss it due to circumstances beyond our control. It became a joke between us; "Hey, the Green Ranger week is on. That means we're going to be going somewhere on Wednesday."
And I don't care what you say about Rita, Jillian; her lips are SUPPOSED to not sync with her speech. It's the whole point; it's an homage to the orignal Japanese series (which Power Rangers used the occasional footage from anyway; episode 2 with the space-shuttle time warp dealie, anyone? Anyone? Beuller?)
This month has just been the month of nostalgia for me, I guess. First Animorphs, now this. I wonder what will come next.

Date: 2006-07-17 08:55 pm (UTC)So I've got that picture you posted set as my desktop background. (The photoshopped picture of Darkwing Duck) Viv, one of my IT people here at work, came up to do something for the printer, and she saw the picture. Exact quote: "That's a pretty picture, did you take it yourself?"
[Insert stunned silence here]
Keep in mind, this is the same IT person who consistently forgets to pull the little tabby thingy off of printer cartridges.

Killing gnomes, plus a set of the best +agility leather pants available until the mid-fourties? Oh yes. This will indeed rock.
