Just like riding a biker.

Literary skills never atrophy; they simply gather dust. When they are not used on a regular basis, sometimes the mental processes and the finger muscles forget how things fit together as they once did, but it does not take much effort at all to retrain them to the capabilities they once had.

Because of this, it is possible for one who prides himself on his abilities to realize that he has just typed the phrase "a voice unlike she had ever seen".

This has been a Public Service Announcement.
