Made of Fail Opening Sequences
Jul. 5th, 2009 09:15 pmI've done a lot of editing in my year as owner and producer of Made of Fail, and things I've done initially don't really compare to things I've done recently. However, certain parts of my job have always stayed the same, and some sequences I put together way in the beginning of my experience came out so great, so...perfect, that I haven't felt the need to touch it.
The original opening sequence was one. In it, I took background music - the opening riff to "Pain", by Four Star Mary (also known as Dingoes Ate My Baby on Buffy the Vampire Slayer) - added soundclips (these also were mostly from Buffy), put clips of myself and Dayna as the show ID tag, and polished it off with a flair.
A lot of people liked it. I know I did. You can listen to it here.
Season Two of Made of Fail is going to be bigger. Better. With more...moreness. As such, I wanted to redo the opening from scratch. Completely. New music - "Another Girl, Another Planet" by Blink 182 - throw in the new tagline ("We were unpopular before it was cool!", Episode Seventeen) and some wackiness, and it's a pretty decent replacement.
(I especially like the interaction between Giles and Jillian at the beginning.)
Listen to the Season Two opening here.
Thoughts?
EDIT: There's also a poll in the main community.
