ROCKING OUT
Feb. 17th, 2008 08:19 pmSo Dayna and I tend to rock out when I go visit her; she has a guitar and can play like a badass, and we both tend to like 80s hair metal bands.
The last couple times I went to see her, we've been trying to nail down "Your Love" by The Outfield, and I've been practicing (read: putting it on in the car on my way to work and singing along), so I've got the lyrics and the timing down pretty well. I still get performance anxiety and mess up a bit, but we've only done it together like three times total.
Today, we were doing that (as well as rickrolling her husband), and my voice was way out of tune. Anyone who knows me will say that I sing pretty well, but I have like no range at all. I was shifting octaves a lot the last time, and ended up with a really bad Axl Rose impersonation one time today, and then I ended up Shatnering the rest of it.
That proved to be so awesome that we decided to do the first half of the song completely Shatnerized, and then videotape it.
(The great thing about Shatnering is that you can mess up a lot more and recover so easily that nobody can tell.)
Behold!
