Wasn't really prompted by anything, no.
Apr. 30th, 2007 04:10 pmSome of my favorite music:
Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
Slide - Goo Goo Dolls
The Goo Goo Dolls are a band that, whenever I hear them play, make me think I'm hanging out at my mom's store. I hear either of those songs, and I can smell shoe leather.
Incidentally, "Iris" is one of the songs I'm considering to be the song I dance to at my wedding.
Follow You Down - Gin Blossoms
Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms
Found Out About You - Gin Blossoms
The Gin Blossoms is who I point to when people are confused by my phrase "Bipolar 90s Rock". People have said that they only have one song - however, I like that song.
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns 'n' Roses
I can be described as a casual Guns 'n' Roses fan. Welcome to the Jungle is badass (and excellent to play when grinding in STV), but Sweet Child is just one of those perfect songs to break out.
Good - Better Than Ezra
Another one of those quintessential 90s songs. A must-have on any party CD.
Learn To Fly - Foo Fighters
Needs no explanation. One of my favorite driving songs. Music video also features a cameo by Tenacious D.
Back in the USSR - The Beatles
Just...every Beatles song needs to be up here, but this is one of my favorites.
Landed - Ben Folds
Jackson Cannery - Ben Folds Five
Army - Ben Folds Five
Philosophy - Ben Folds Five
Ben Folds is, honestly, my favorite musician. I grew up with Billy Joel and Elton John in my house, and I will always have a soft spot for piano rock, and Ben Folds does not disappoint. Still working on collecting all his CDs. If you have not heard Ben Folds, those four are my favorite of his songs, but it was VERY hard to choose.
