My new deviantART DeviantID:



I made the background the same shade of grey as the background of deviantART itself, just to have the cool seamless effect. Except for where the text is cut off, of course.

Having a distinct lack of Photoshop either at home or at work (not even the bastardized Elements that I used to have at home), I improvised. I wasn't going to use Paint, of course, so I took a screencap of deviantART, cropped and expanded it in Irfanview, and placed it in MS Word. I then played with the formatting options to get the text to layer over the grey box, and started typing. I quickly ran out of things, so I did the tried-and-true copy/paste to fill up enough of a space.

I used a couple of the least-lame WordArt functions, layered that over the text, and took yet another screencap. One more cropping session in Irfanview, and I had this to show for it.

It's basic, and I could have done it much better in Photoshop, but I'm still fairly pleased with how it turned out.

An idea

You know what would be fun? Star Wars Novels, in Breakfast Saga-style synopses. Or m15m-style synopses.

I'll probably start with the Thrawn Trilogy.

EDIT: What should I call it? The Wraith Report? Rogue Squadron Readings? Quarren Quickies? Jedi Jams? Does anyone have an idea that's not as lame as these names here?

I'll call it the Rogue Report.

EDIT 2: You know, my mom sometimes tells me that I should try and focus on only a few things at a time. She says it's so that I don't burn myself out. I wonder why she feels she needs to tell me this.
